Staying at Thösamling.
For someone new to India Thösamling may seem like
a bit of a journey from McLeod Ganj.
For this reason we offer dormitory accommodation to short
term guests, many of whom just stay for one or two nights
while exploring the local area.
Guests at Thösamling are welcome to join our morning
and afternoon meditation and pujas as well as simply enjoying
the beautiful mountain scenery or spending some time in
our new library. Otherwise they can go out exploring.
The village of Sidhpur is slowly turning into a Tibetan
satellite city. Here you will find The Norbulingka Institute,
a centre for the preservation of Tibetan culture and Nyingtobling,
the Tibetan Handicapped Children's Craft Home. Just down
the road is Gyuto Tantric University, the temporary residence
of His Holiness The Karmapa.
As Thösamling is a working nunnery we ask all guests
to respect the nunnery rules, including abiding by the
5 lay precepts. Although men are most welcome to come
and visit us we can not accommodate them overnight.
